Bank valuation of housing rises 16.9%

According to data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE), the most significant increase was recorded in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (19.4%), with no decreases occurring.
In March, around 36,600 bank assessments were carried out, representing an increase of 4.3% compared to the previous month and an increase of 19.9% year-on-year.
In relation to February, the Autonomous Region of Madeira showed the most significant increase, of 3.7%, and there was also no chain drop.
The areas of Greater Lisbon, Algarve, Autonomous Region of Madeira, Setúbal Peninsula and Alentejo Litoral presented assessment values higher than the country's median by 47.1%, 32.0%, 15.5%, 15.1% and 5.4%, respectively.
Alto Tâmega e Barroso, Alto Alentejo and Beira Baixa were the regions that presented the lowest values in relation to the country's median (-52.6%, -51.5% and -50.7%, respectively).
